Hensarling: Democrats Wrecked the Economy!
Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 3:35 pm
From Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas)’s opening statement at today’s budget hearing.
Mr. Chairman, we have just spent the last hour listening to our Democrat friends engage in the blame game, in an attempt to re-write history. Yet the last time I checked, the Democrats had control of Congress since January of 2007 and Mr. Chairman, the economy tanked on their watch.
Hensarling used to lead the Republican Study Committee; a few weeks ago I asked his successor, Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) when this became the Democrats’ economy, and he said January 20, 2009.

So when 9/11 happened on GWB's watch, well, it wasn't his fault, it was all the fault of Clinton because that's when the groundwork was laid. But the economy tanking due to deregulation and a housing bubble, that groundwork didn't happen until January of 2007? Hilarious.

Ronbo, 9//1 was G.W. fault. The deregulation causing the housing bubble was Clinton's, and the current spend it like you stole it is Obama's. Duh, DF's – wake up. WE PAY for all these……can't anyone see both sides of the aisle lead us down the same path?! Bright promises, hollow execution. While your focusing on the “blame game” distraction intended by this article, the country needs to stand together and say enough of the crazy spending FROM BOTH SIDES! These people are not working in America's best interest.
