The Politics of Geithner
Friday, March 20, 2009 at 11:03 am
Jim Tedisco, the Republican candidate in the special election in New York’s 20th Congressional District, has seized onto the AIG bonus outrage and is upping the ante basically every day. Yesterday, he demanded the resignation of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and knocked his Democratic opponent, Scott Murphy, for not doing the same.
In these challenging times, our country can ill-afford to have a treasury secretary who does not command the full confidence and trust of the American people. The American people are mad as hell over the way AIG, Wall Street and Washington have broken their promises and betrayed their trust.
This is political jujitsu, Tedisco trying to turn a Murphy attack — that all the Republican says is “no” — into populist cred.

“No” collectively, would have sent Geithner's nomination out the door. Not a Rep/Dem issue; Turbo Tax Tim should have NEVER had the position. I say, get him out!! (Along with the TOTUS and Senate).
