Chris Hill, et al., Confirmation Hearing Soon

I noted yesterday that Chris Hill doesn’t have a confirmation hearing scheduled in the Senate for his new post as ambassador to Iraq. Now it looks like the hearing’s just around the corner. The White House put out a press release today announcing Hill’s formal nomination to the Baghdad post; retired Army Gen. Karl Eikenberry to the ambassadorship in Afghanistan; Brookings’ Ivo Daalder to the de-facto-ambassadorship to NATO; Ambassador Sandy Vershbow to the assistant secretaryship for international security affairs; and Richard Verma, a former top aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to the State Department congressional-liason job.
