Joe Arpaio IS the best sheriff in America. He is probably the only Sheriff who will actually do what he was hired to do. Enforce the law and go after criminals. Of course, that is why the illegals and their advocates hate him. Illegal advocates cry over ANY type of enforcement. Every PD in America should have rights to check on any person they come across committing a crime.

The only residents of Arpaio's tent city are either serving out convictions or awaiting trail. The illegal aliens there are in criminal detention, which has absolutely nothing to do with the sheriff's federal immigration authority. He may be a jerk, and he may be segregating inmates (including Russians and Jamaicans) with immigration holds on them, but these actions have nothing to do with 287(g). Nothing.

Is it too much to ask to at least get past the nut graph without a major error in fact?

Actually, research has shown that immigrants contribute strongly to our socail security, because they receive nothing that they put in, especially those working with false documents. Also, the only people being affected by immigrants, both documented and undocumented, are high school drop outs. And that should put the focus on how to keep Americans in school. Outsourcing is taking jobs from high school and college grads, and those people are NOT immigrants. I do not have links because I have read this in newspapers, magazines, and college text books.
