John Ziegler on Andrew Sullivan

During the Q&A that makes up the bulk of my Sarah Palin piece today, radio host and Media Malpractice documentary filmmaker John Ziegler attacked Andrew Sullivan as the ultimate example of how the media rewarded attacks on Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska).

Andrew Sullivan is a guy who should never be allowed back in any remnant of the conservative movement after what he did, just on the Trig “trutherism” issue. It’s just scandalous. I mean, this guy is still invited on major TV shows after coming forward with, and continuing, the theory that Gov. Palin faked a pregnancy of a Downs Syndrome child even after we found out that the daughter she was allegedly protecting was also pregnant, in a way made it absolutely biologically impossible. Now, that ought to be a career ender! Instead it was a career advancement, because of the bias in the news media.

“There are no sins when you try to go after Sarah Palin,” said Ziegler. “The only sin is not trying hard enough.”

Andrew Sullivan is a deranged jerk. If he had spread his lies about anyone else, he would be totally unacceptable in decent company, but because his lies were directed at Sarah Palin, it's considered alright. Of course, if everyone who told lies about Sarah Palin, and her family were banished, there would be almost no talking heads on TV and few columnists on the net or in the papers, and far fewer “reporters” than we have today. Within five minutes of Palin completing her acceptance speech at the convention, Brian Williams of NBC was on the air reading from a prepared list of things that turned out to be either outright lies or exaggerations. I'm guessing that the list was provided by the 0bama camp. The entire media behaved more disgracefully this year than any other past election. The unfortunate part is that so many people bought their lies, and look what we have now, a left wing radical spending the country into debt that will have a negative impact for generations.

Andrew Sullivan is the lowest of the low. No class. No ethics. Obviously no pride. He is not worthy to call himself a journalist.

Why is it the left is always pretending to be journalists. It is a good thing Sarah is as tough as she is otherwise this crap just might bother her. If he was doing that to the left heck msnbc would be all over him.Jerk

Sullivan is a psychopath, but the media are a bunch of corrupt, Obama worshiping sycophants.

I really have no idea of Andrew Sullivan is…
Perhaps his attempts were simply an effort to elicit name recognition for himself.

Sounds like this Sullivan is a guy who has had his fame, and so he should quietly fade away. What a jerk. No wonder the mainstream media like him.

In accepting her down syndrome child as a blessing and a gift, Sarah Palin bore withness to the sanctity of life and to the Author of all life. In doing so she delivered an unbearable though unspoken moral rebuke to a whole generation embued with liberal/nihilistic values. They reacted rather like those vampire characters in films when confronted with a crucifix, or being sprinkled with holy water. What to do? Easy! Turn this tale of noble sacricfice on its head and make it into a dark tale of conspiracy, deception and fraud. Sullivan is not deranged. This was cold and calculating.

It is still amazing how much the spin of the left wing media (and some Republican elite) did a number on Sarah Palin.

Many of the people who trashed Sarah Palin were ample rewarded; in money or career advancement or both.

Andrew Sullivan definitely has a mental problem. Would someone please find a legitimate job for this poor, pathetic man? Why is he so frightened of Gov. Palin??? Wait……………..I think I know. Gov. Palin is the real deal, and this guy can't stand it. He voted for the guy whom we know nothing about, other than he is an empty suit. I suppose it takes one to know one, huh, Andrew?

Sullivan is a conservative. He's not a member of the left as you state. Since you got this basic fact wrong, why should anyone listen to your opinion

It's obvious that you don't know anything about Andrew Sullivan. He is very conservative, so for him to criticize a fellow conservative like Sarah Palin has some merit.
I don't care about her's or her daughter's pregnancies. But the fact that she would bring a mongoloid baby on stage for hours, and also embarrass her pregnant daughter by bringing her on stage is very telling.
Sarah Palin had nothing from contempt for unmarried, teenage mothers until it happened to her daughter.
Before that she blamed such behavior on the liberal lifestyle.
Also, please note that there have been more ultra-conservative politicians involved in sex scandals than than their liberal counterparts. Conservatives talk the talk but don't walk the walk

It's not about Sullivan. It's about Palin. She is unelectable going forward in both Alaska and nationally. The American public is on to her. Sure she's a moron, but that's not the issue : she's power crazy, ruthless, crude, classless and the most repulsive, grotesque reactionary to enter the national political scene since Spiro Agnew.
Should Rush be successful in sending this pathetic, clueless loser out there again in 2012, the GOP won't regain the Oval Office again until 2025—after Hillary's second term.

Sarah Palin has a huge advantage in Alaska. The majority of Alaskans polled already said that she deserves reelection. I don't think she can be beaten for reelection.

She will win the Republican nomination in 2012 becasue she is a smaert and effective leader.

If Obama is a good president he will win reeelection but as far as I can see he is going to lose.

I agree with John Ziegler that the conservative ranks should be closed off to Andrew Sullivan and any of his ilk. It kinda shocked me at first that Sullivan even considers himself a “conservative” given the fact that he has worked for both THE NEW REPUBLIC and THE ATLANTIC MONTHLY. Both of these periodicals are left of center and I have always considered Sullivan as such. Believe me, I have read Sullivan over the years and properly vetted him. He may have some conservative ideas but for the most part, Sullivan is left of center on both the economy and culture. He refuses to 1) attack the Politcal Left as it may piss off some of his Ivy League llberal friends and 2) promote gay conservative websites such as Gay Patriot and chooses instead to link DailyKos and HuffPo. His personal attacks on Palin after all the other left wing blogs like Kos and HuffPo pulled off should be the final nail in his coffin. Pautlards, don't fall for Sullivan's snake oil. He's supporting Ron Paul for one reason and one reason only, and that is to drive a wedge in the Conservative Movement so that his Leftist buddies can win elections. If Sullivan was truly interested in the Conservative Movement as a whole, he would be debating the Laura Ingraham''s, Mark levin's or Rich Lowry's. However, he does not and would rather show up on Bill Maher to present his views.

Good for you John! John is merley asking for Sullivan and Letterman to have a shred of respect for another human being. I don't really understand how Contessa or anyone else could consider it “humor” to attach someone at such a low level. Really, is it necessary to make fun (true or not) about a child with a disability or publicly ridicule Palins daughter by joking about her having sex (easy target)? That kind of humor got people shot at numerous high schools in the past. I am guessing Sullivan and Letterman were the kind of class clowns that drove the quiet “smart” kids in school to commit suicide and then joked about that too. I say it is time to change the channel when all you can do to make people laugh is to make someone else cry. NOT FUNNY DAVE! GROW A BACKBONE ANDREW.
