Rice: Deal Is Coming Soon, With Timetables
Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 10:37 am
Looks like the Journal was right. Here’s Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, quoted by the AP (via TPM):
"We have agreed that some goals, some aspirational timetables for how that might unfold, are well worth having in such an agreement."
So "aspirational timetables" is the new euphemism for setting a date. Ball’s in your court, John McCain.

What is McCain going to do if timetable are actually set? His entire foreign policy on Iraq will be moot. I’ll guess he’ll really be a maverick, because no one will be on his side then.
