Panetta Hearing, Part Deux: Bond Concedes Panetta will be CIA Director

“When you’re confirmed, as I’m sure you will be,” Sen. Kit Bond (R-Mo.) says he looks forward to working with CIA Director-designate Leon Panetta.

Bond moves on immediately to assuring Panetta that the Senate intelligence committee seeks to act in “a spirit of bipartisanship.” So what was all this about, then?

Ah, good to see that Bond also then extracts a promise from Panetta that he won’t totally ban contractors from the CIA, which isn’t something Panetta said he wanted in the first place. This fool can’t retire from the Senate fast enough. What kind of grown man calls himself Kit?
