DENVER, Colo. — Here at the Pepsi Center, we’re watching a heartfelt tribute to the liberal icon Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.). Rumor-congealing-into-received wisdom is that he’s going to speak immediately after. How is this not treacly? We’re seeing a torch passed — the Kennedy spirit of vigorous, fearless pursuit of justice is landing with Barack Obama.
