Steele to Obama: ‘How You Like Me Now?’
Friday, January 30, 2009 at 4:44 pm
In response to a question from Human Events about how then-Sen. Barack Obama campaigned against him and called him an “amiable fellow” without much of a resume, Steele pondered what he’d say to the president.
“I’d say congratulations, and I look forward to sparring with him. And then I’d say: How you like me now?”
To another question, about how he’d fix the GOP’s “image problem”: “Well, I got a nice suit.” He stepped away from the podium and undid a button. “And a nice tie! But seriously…”

Please!
You have got to be kidding me!
Michael Steele……..Obama is right – he is a fellow without much of a resume….
What has he done for Maryland……NOTHING!!!!
The Republicans think he will fix the GOP's image problem……primarily because of his race..
I am so glad I am not a republican……..they do not think!!

Obama = Post-racial candidate elected for his character, virtue & promise of change
Steele = Republican token black leader. One they feel was forced on them.
One is action, the other weak, misguided reaction.

The GOP leadership will treat Michael Steele the same way they treated J. C. Watts.
And Steele will eventually resign in disgust and disappointment, just like Watts did when he declined to run for reelection.
The GOP pays lip service to minorities, then holds them over a fire when they need a convenient scapegoat to get the base riled up. This will not change.

Congradulations Steele, it is good to see a black Republican!!!! Other republicans: Abe Lincon, Martain Luther
Obama is not moral, and any black that voted for him went backwards, just do not get it yet.

It took 3 people dropping out,6 rounds of votes before ,they could go black face with Steele.

Steele is encouraging the GOP not to vote for Daschel because of his tax problem, but Steele faces foreclosure himself, hypocrite!

Michael Steele is an idiot! The only reason he was even elected to chair the RNC is because his 2 top Republican challengers included one clown that just resigned from a White's only country club and the other sent out the Barack-The Magic Negro CD as Christmas gifts…and it STILL took them five rounds of voting to elect him! All hail the lesser of 3 evils!!!

“How you like me now?” What is he in high school circa 1989? As President of the United States, Barack Obama is the leader of the free world and could care less about the token leader of the unpopular Grand Obstructionist Party's new entry on his so-called resume.
No matter how hard Steele tries to suck up to the “man” (i.e., Rove & Co.), Faux News, and Rushannity, he will NEVER come anywhere close to being the caliber of a man (or politician for that matter) that President Obama is, and the repubes have been trying HARD to put him in President Obama's footsteps since 2005. So far it hasn't worked and it won't work in the future either!

LOL!! I could not agree with you more or said it better. Listen, African Americans actually see this move as another stunt or gimmick. This stunt is no different than when McCain picked Palin as his V.P. running mate. That move was supposed to appease women in regards to Hillary. Now, they (reluctantly) pick Steele as an attempt to counteract President Obama and suddenly show diversity?
How in the hell can someone like Saltzer disribute a racist CD in regards to African Americans and Hispanics and Steele take his time to publically denounce it (if he ever did)? I'll tell you how, its because he could care less. Steele was a strong supporter of the “Country Club” guy in 2005 even when he was aware of his membership to a club that only allowed the membership of Whites.
The GOP is NOT about inclusiveness. I mean you may have a few minorities who have conservative values but if you do not live a certain lifestyle, have the same beliefs, and yes, look a certain way the GOP really has no use for you. If they did there would have been more GOP folks publically denouncing the likes if Saltzman, Limbaugh and etc.
What does Steele think the GOP thinks of him? My father always told me “If you fail to stand for something, you will fall for anything.” Steele, as a minority in a sinking party, could not even stand up to his party when they insulted the very groups they desperately need in order to get back on track. That is why he is failing to see that the GOP is “using” him in order to recruit the very minoriry groups the GOP has insulted.
Steele is weak, scared and spineles and we know it.
