It would be great if someone with the knowledge could take the "package" by major category of expenditure (not the 1%), and write about how much is going for roads, education, health and unemployment, how it will be paid for, what the tax breaks are for. What the Republicans are doing as well as talking about. Who supports which of the chunks and who opposes them and why. How many Republicans from areas with high unemployment, high food stamp use and collapsed housing prices and markets and what they are doing. There's a saying "the devil is in the details". This time the interest is in the details, at least for me. The bill, and the back and forth are the real world first skirmish indicating how the new General intends to deploy and command, and how the opposition intends to counter-deploy. I so hope to find an interesting and informed account somewhere by someone who doesn't think a quick characterization is enough to do justice to what is going on.
