Holder Aide Says Bond Was Promised Nothing on Torture

What the hell, Sen. Kit Bond (R-Mo.)?

An aide to Attorney General-designate Eric Holder says Holder never promised you that he wouldn’t prosecute Bush officials for torture, despite what you told Eli Lake of the Washington Times. Elana Schor and Zachary Roth report:

“Eric Holder has not made any commitments about who would or would not be prosecuted,” the aide said via e-mail. “He explained his position to Senator Bond as he did in the public hearing and in his responses to written questions.”

At this point, we’re officially in one-of-these-men-is-a-liar territory.
