It’s Tedisco!

Josh Kraushaar has the news: James Tedisco, the minority leader in the New York Assembly, will be the GOP candidate for Senator-designate Kristen Gillibrand’s House seat. Tedisco brushed past John Faso, whom local politicos told me was well-respected, but not seen to have as strong a political machine as Tedisco.

As I reported this morning, Democrats expect New York Gov. David Paterson to wait until they have a candidate to declare a date for the special election. The Democrats’ choice probably won’t come until after meetings this weekend.

Tedisco is the rising star in New York politics. He will be tough to beat. It's strong fiscal conservatives like Jim Tedisco who can help bring Republicans back.

As an aside, he appears to be the ONLY statewide Republican in New York who actually understands Facebook and Twitter and has pages there.
