That’s Racist!

Today’s enemy of racial transcendence: Rev. Joseph Lowery.

Sure, he participated in the Montgomery bus boycott and led the Southern Christian Leadership Conference for 20 years. But yesterday, he said this:

Lord, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around, when yellow can be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right.

This, says Jeff Emanuel of RedState, is terribly racist, and it’s an outrage that Lowery “used his opportunity to pray before the masses to rehash the long-past ills of a bygone age of racism and inexcusable ethnic discrimination.” Michelle Malkin accused Lowery of “glib racialism” and asked if Jeremiah Wright had written the white/right line.

I did wonder why he included that in the prayer. Though just because we have a president who is African-American does not mean racism does not exist anymore. Entertainers and Sports figures have been embraced and now politicians for their talents. Will racial profiling end because Obama is president, no. Will hidden racism end , no.
