That is an extremely derogatory statement and false claim "The majority of Black Americans have low scholastic achievement" and that "Black Americans who vote Democratic are either led by a Black Celebrity such as Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton." Black people just like all people listen to the various perspectives but think and decide for themselves. The media portrayal of Black Americans is insulting to the group and the entire race continues to pay a high price. Black Americans began voting democrat in significantly higher numbers when LBJ signed off on Civil Rights Acts that were initiated by JFK.

This is a general feeling of educated white conservatives so there is no need to hide it or act like it is going away. The majority of Black Americans have low scholastic achievement and don't vote as conservatives. Conservative White Americans believe that the Black vote is not essential considering that it cannot be achieved by promoting conservative ideals. Blacks who vote conservative are traditionally Southern Democrats (aka old people) who are Christian and have traditional conservative American values and who are not in step with the liberal agenda of the Democrats. Black Americans who vote Democratic are either led by a Black celebrity such as Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton, or who believe that the government owes them something for slavery or some other form of victimization that happened in our American history. Ask a Black conservative why he votes and the answer will fall along moral religious grounds, ask A Black liberal and the answer will fall along the victimization grounds.

A true conservative only cares about the value of the dollar, national security, reduced taxation and the elimination of big government interference in our private lives.

I am Black, and my paternal grandparents were Republican. They were born in the 19th century and equated the Republican Party with Abraham Lincoln just as my ninety-six year old paternal aunt still does. She has voted the Republican ticket in local and national elections since 1936. I have voted in every election since the age of eighteen and I am now fifty-five. I would NEVER even remotely consider voting Republican or converting to the Republican Party. Personally, I am enjoy being a Democrat, but if an African American for whatever reason became dissatisfied with the Democratic Party the Republican Party is NOT the answer. It would be better to go to Nader's Green Party than be a Republican.

As you mention the Republicans in general and Steele in particular have an uphill battle due to the Obama out-triangulation on race in this past cycle (e.g. the repudiation more or less of racial hucksterism). But in addition, the explicit messaging against metropolitan areas by the Republican party doesn't help either one as well. For example, that one surrogate on a cable news show who basically said anyone who lives north of the Occoquan is from the "fake Virginia", not from the "real Virginia". The entire campaign had the subtext that anyone who lives within 20 miles of an urban core is not a 'real' American. But this is where the majority of the population is.
Air Force 25
Nike Air Force 1 Mid

[...] RNC Chair Candidate: We Don’t Take Blacks Seriously Michael Steele doesn’t think Republicans take black voters seriously. Didn’t hear him? He’ll say it again. In a November interview with the Washington Times, the chairman of the 31-year-old Republican training outfit GOPAC claimed that Republican leaders “don’t give a damn” about blacks. At last week’s debate between Steele and five other candidates for Republican National Committee chairman, Steele, almost unbidden, accused his party of “rolling out” black members as tokens, for media consumption. “We’ve had this conversation for 15 years,” Steele said after the debate, “about bringing black folks out. Well, do it. Don’t just talk about it. Do it.” (Continue Reading….) 3 Top Editors Take Ebony, Jet Buyouts Iranian Protesters Burn Barack Obama Pictures Black Celebrities Named in New ‘Apprentice’ Cast Sharpton: Churches Should Focus on Social Woes, Not Gay Marriage STDs Remain Serious Threat for Young Black Women Clinton Says She Will ‘Sound the Alarm’ on Darfur CBS News’ Byron Pitts Joins 60 Minutes U.S. Helps Africa’s Armies Talk to Each Other MLK Papers Now Available Online [...]
