According to Sam Walton, Hillary was a very stubborn and insistent voice on the board to increase women's role in the company; she was the one that pushed for Made in the USA for Wal-Mart and finally when the company didn't live up to her standards she left the board. Sounds like a pretty good record to me.

If you remember that this was early 80's and most people 's eyes had turned to making a "dynasty lifestyle" a la Reagan, and women's issues as well as made in the USA were backburner items.

It s not that he "boosted" this guys business, the guy was a bit player who suddenly became a primary mover in the business, and the "healthy" donation was really astronomical- but was it all legal or not?
