Tough Day Ahead for Clinton Camp

The trouble starts with a big New York Times front-page account of Bill Clinton’s involvement with Frank Giustra, a Canadian financier who, it seems, used his ties to the former president to boost his mining business in Kazakhstan — and then made healthy donations to Clinton’s foundation.

Then there’s an ABC News look at Hillary Clinton’s time on the board of Wal-Mart.

An ABC News analysis of the videotapes of at least four stockholder meetings where Clinton appeared shows she never once rose to defend the role of American labor unions.

Not what you want with just days to go until Super Tuesday – and all those union-friendly Edwards votes up for grabs.

According to Sam Walton, Hillary was a very stubborn and insistent voice on the board to increase women’s role in the company; she was the one that pushed for Made in the USA for Wal-Mart and finally when the company didn’t live up to her standards she left the board. Sounds like a pretty good record to me.

If you remember that this was early 80′s and most people ‘s eyes had turned to making a "dynasty lifestyle" a la Reagan, and women’s issues as well as made in the USA were backburner items.

It s not that he "boosted" this guys business, the guy was a bit player who suddenly became a primary mover in the business, and the "healthy" donation was really astronomical- but was it all legal or not?
