I couldn't agree more with Yankee Exile. It is the height of brazen self-serving audacity for the right-leaning establishment to characterize out of control spending as the fault of Social Security and Medicare, when THIS OUT OF CONTROL WAR is the real culprit. I simply cannot understand or fathom how the right can justify spending (WASTING!) TRILLIONS on an unjustified war we do not need, in the Middle East, where we should not be, to begin with.

Give me a break! Lawmakers should focus more on thier responsiblity over an administration who keeps the Iraq Occupation OFF BUDGET. Earmarks? Give me a break, SS is the only $ left in this country. We have an occupation which will suck up to a trillion out of the treasury with tax cuts for the rich and subsidies for oil companies and then blame Social Security and Medicaid is more of the same greed and utter gall. Brought to you direct from the Brookings Institute.

What you see is the "drowned in the bathtub" plan. We haven't seen the best of it yet.
