Illinois House Votes to Impeach Blagojevich
Friday, January 09, 2009 at 11:35 am
MSNBC reports that the Illinois House of Representatives has just voted to impeach Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) for alleged corruption and abuse of power. Blagojevich was arrested last month for, according to federal investigators, scheming to “sell” an appointment to President-elect Barack Obama’s vacated Senate seat. The Illinois House vote was 114 in favor of impeachment, to one opposed.
He will now face a trial in front of the full state Senate.
According to the AP, this is the first time in history that an Illinois governor has been impeached.

Mercifully, the good governor's hairpiece is immune to prosecution.
One can only hope that his children will gain custody of the damn thing. It is, after all, a family hair-loom.
Ba-zing!
