The Continuing Republican Campaign For Black Justice

The conservative CNS News site gets Michael Steele (about whom you can find more here) on record, telling Democrats to seat Roland Burris as the junior senator from Illinois.

Now, the Democrats have got their hands full, because they can seat him or not seat him, and the reality of it for them is there’s no legal reason not to seat him. He’s qualified. He’s dually presented by the sitting governor.

Steele’s take was echoed, with … somewhat less tact, by Rush Limbaugh. The conservative radio host and noted civil rights leader introduced his Burris segment yesterday by playing the theme song from The Jeffersons.

(Well we’re movin’ on up!)

I don’t think so.

(to the east side!)

I don’t think so.

(To a deluxe apartment in the sky!)

Not today.

(We’ll we’re movin’ on up!)

Just one problem.  Couldn’t get in the front door.

Limbaugh also gloated about how he’d been right all along about the “magic negro” argument.

They accuse [Illinois Gov. Rod] Blagojevich of playing the race card.  It’s the Democrats who run the Senate who are refusing to seat somebody who has been legitimately appointed by a sitting governor.  [President-elect Barack] Obama’s appointed a bunch of white people, and now Burris gets rejected.  Even Obama came out against Burris. The inauthentic came out against the authentic, according to the way you liberals look at things here.

Limbaugh also guffawed at the fact that the Illinois secretary of state who is blocking Burris’ appointment is named Jesse White: “You can’t make this up!”

Jesse White is black.

This was amazing to me also. Limbaugh played the entire Jefferson's song in pich shift mode, slowing it down for effect. He didnt say a word as Janet DuBois sang every word of the song sounding like a slave with very poor english. Then he played the song at normal pitcha and the effect was not as great so the overweight racist began to talk in the background. Obama the magic Negro was defended by only the evil racist in America, and I guess this will be justified too. I enjoy his show when he isnt doing this to ANYONE.
