Blair has a poor human rights record. Look at what he did in East Timor and Indonesia a decade ago. As militia and Indonesian military violence was escalating in 1999 prior to East Timor's indedpendence referendum, Blair went to Indonesia. Instead of delivering a strong message that the Indonesian military should back off and respect human rights, he offered understanding and further U.S. military assistance.He seems locked into the notion that human rights should be secondary in U.S. relations with other countries.
