2008. What a year.
As the world prepares to close the book on the year in which the United States elected its first African-American president, the global economy faltered, wars continued to rage in Afghanistan and Iraq — and another re-ignited in the Holy Land — the staff at TWI is taking a much-needed (and well-earned) day to reflect on it all.
Thanks to the miracle of timed-publishing, we will be walking back through 2008 all day today here on The Streak, from January to December. We’ll revisit the biggest stories, as we saw them at the time, and we welcome you to come along.
Let’s hope 2009 is every bit as exhilarating as 2008 was. See you next year.
