For those craving more, I’ll file an overview on what went down today. One final blog note- at least three Representatives I can remember gave an introductory speech describing how much the hearing was a waste of time. The oversight committee has bigger fish to fry and taxpayer dollars to save, they said.
A legitimate argument- but these representatives were at the hearing! My colleague Mike Lillis speculates that this was the most well attended House Oversight Committee hearing since, well, the last House oversight committee hearing with baseball stars, back in March 2005. We’ll see if these upset representatives attend the next Waxman hearing on fraud and waste in Medicare.
Hearing Adjourned!
