After the military is reformed it will certainly be easier to:

Use it in the US
Go broke defending other dictators
Create "peace" by shooting anyone that disagrees

Does anyone really think you can create peace with a gun? The only way is to kill all those that oppose you.
Perpetual war for perpetual peace. The world is flat. We have met the enemy and he is us.

No, we need to become a nation that doesn't militarily dominate the planet. Our bloated and far too violent military posture causes us too many problems and solves virtually nothing. The elephant in the room is that our military posture is not about safety or security, it is about power. We need to climb down from the ivory towers of being the global police chief and put "persistent conflict" in the dustbin where it belongs.

We need to bring our military spending in line with the rest of the world, work with our allies to solve problems, and rely on economic, instead of military, competition with other nations. Being a bloated military power only helps the greedy and corrupt, it does nothing for the rest of us.
