		<description>While there&#039;s widespread media attention to, and much public sympathy for, the Republic workers, labor unions are still being trashed by auto execs, the press, and the public, vis-a-vis the plight of American auto manufacturers.  Even though it only requires 20-30 manhours to build a car ($1200 to $1800 in cost for a $30,000 car), union workers continue to be berated for &quot;making too much&quot;.  Big Business, and politicians, still control the public discourse and will continue to make unionized labor a whipping boy.  Republic happens to represent a unique confluence of events; it doesn&#039;t, IMHO, represent any broad change in public attitude toward &quot;overpaid&quot; workers.</description>
