No, totally not — I was just afraid of slipping into jargon that might be obscure to a general audience. I didn't mean to imply that these folks are soi-disant realists or anything like that. Just wanted to flash a warning light: “jargon ahead.”

Why “so-called Realists”? Are you suggesting that these people are Realists in Name Only? Or deriding the use of a decades old name for their school of foreign policy thought?

“Reiterating his agenda, he emphasized his goal of pulling combat troops out of Iraq in 16 months” – i guess you did not hear the 4 or 5 reasons that Obama would keep the troops in!

It is important to hear not just what you want to hear, but all that is said.
