When is corruption not corruption? When it's a Stevens corruption? At first I thought, "what a sad waste of a great career for a few measly house improvements." Then I read TWI's commentary:

"Personally, it felt a bit surreal to watch Stevens... Stevens has been plagued with myriad scandals — not just the one that finally did him in. It became normal to write about him being accused of outrageous behavior and then never facing consequences."

One wonders if he had ONLY the state of Alaska's interests at heart how much MORE of a wonderful statesman he might have been.

Now I understand the whole poker chips clogging the series of tubes that is the Internet. Stevens is so caught up with the oil industry, he likens everything to a series of tubes. But seriously, don't you think that if there was a two term limit on congressmen and women, 40 years of corruption could have never breed?
