Dean's being reasonable about Texas, and about going after Appalachia and the inland South. What happens in 2012 if Obama seeks reelection and more whites have gotten comfortable with the notion of a black president? In fact, what happens in 2010 if Democrats are seen as having gotten things done, especially dealing with the economy? Waves tend not to go three elections, but other than that, Republicans have little to hope for other than the Democrats fail, while Democrats have to succeed, and hope Republicans still can't figure out what's gone wrong.
