Dahr Jamail's main man in Bahgdad reports that Maliki's forces totally turned tail in the capital and faded into the woodwork during the recent uprising, that the Mahdi Army was able to roam free and at will unless confronted by American forces. Check out 'Common Dreams' website for tuesday. It is apparent that unembedded/independent reporters in Iraq are up against far worse than what Halberstam and cohorts were up against in Saigon in 1963. AIPAC/MSM media have rendered us unto the state of 'Brazil'. If you did not see the flick, you ought to. If you managed to see it and thought of it simply as Orwellian commentary, you ought to see it again. The film's finale provides the key message. It is far too easy to assume that the government and/or the corporate sector are root causes or controlling agents. Rather it is what we allow them to do. Hence, what we have done to ourselves.

p.s. - Jamail is this/younger generation's Halberstam.

Frontline's 'Bad Voodoo's War' sort of put the "spurge" into perspective. Iraq is a failure of war criminal proportion. So, why aren't the war criminals sitting shackled and chained in the dock at the International Criminal Court at the Hague. Makes not a diff if the U.S. isn't "signatory" to the Court. War crimes IS war crimes and Amerika's White House is currently home to the worst of a murderously war criminal lot. However and it must be said, Tony 'lap doggie' Blair AND the Oz John Howard must needs be shackled and chained then delivered to the Hague as well. WAR CRIMES TRIBUNALS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Besides, a good war crimes tribunal is just another way to say "Happy Mother's Day" to Amerika's wives and mothers that have lost a loved one or lover. Hey Spencer? How was that assessment?
