McHugh, Petraeus, and Crocker aren't the only ones who conflate Al Qaeda who attacked us with Al Qaeda we created by invading Iraq. John McCain has deliberately been doing it throughout his campaign. That's in addition to his confusing Shia and Sunni insurgents and not mentioning Shia-against-Shia conflicts. We cannot have another president who either cannot grasp or is not interested in who the factions are in Iraq and the relationship of those factions to Iran. Voters need to pay attention to McCain's failure to recognize and distinguish among the factions we're facing and the need to deal appropriately with each.
