Ted and Don bring home the bacon, Lisa is just not doing the job and was only offered a sweetheart deal on Kenai riverfront property. A lot of people who move there want no part of any responsibility towards a community of others. There is a western frontier distrust of civilization's demands and the need to answer to anyone. Thus, a politician who broke the law could be hailed with "Hell, Yeah!" support for not conforming to the expectations of those far away people who are more community responsible and therefore suspect. <br><br>This also indicates that if Palin is to have any future beyond Alaska, she will have to work very hard to overcome very steep learning curves and to transcend the frontier fundamentalism that bred her. This won't happen soon. I'd expect her to wind up on the tent circuit as an evangelist, alhough it is possible she could wind up with an Alaska congressional or senatorial seat.
