The Liberal Narrative on Iraq Might Not Be Going Official Yet!

About that National Defense University study on Iraq that I posted about. Its author, Joe Collins, has some problems with the way McClatchy reported it, and he sent them over to Dave Dilegge at the excellent Small Wars Journal counterinsurgency blog:

The Miami Herald story (“Pentagon Study: War is a ‘Debacle’ “) distorts the nature of and intent of my personal research project. It was not an NDU study, nor was it a Pentagon study. Indeed, the implication of the Herald story was that this study was mostly about current events. Such is not the case. It was mainly about the period 2002-04. The story also hypes a number of paragraphs, many of which are quoted out of context. The study does not “lay much of the blame” on Secretary Rumsfeld for problems in the conduct of the war, nor does it say that he “bypassed the Joint Chiefs of Staff.” It does not single out “Condoleeza Rice and Stephen Hadley” for criticism.

re: lib narrative on iraq, and ackerman’s signing of the open letter in response to the last dem debate.

Who isn’t glad that the moderators didn’t ask the anti-war Obama why he’s more anxious to serve Nancy ‘impeachment is off the table’ Pelosi than he–a would-be Commander in Chief, remember–is anxious to serve the troops (and their rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness)?

The secret to John McCain’s successful candidacy (whether or not he wins) is that if the anti-war Barack Obama had ever been Commander in Chief material, nobody could’ve stopped Obama from ending the war or from dying trying.

Suppose the moderators of the debate had asked war voter Hillary Clinton whether she believes she’s able to impeach Bush without presenting evidence that would demand her own impeachment, and whether a "No" anser would mean that Clinton’s NY constituents–the ones who’d end the war by impeaching Bush–are without representation.

If I was trying to conceal something, why would I link to the SWJ post? You need to take a deep breath and think things through.

Appears your whole take needs, oh horrors, revision: use of NDU, liberal narrative, linking various names and themes known to draw a knee jerk reaction in some quarters, and so on. Starts with the subject itself – despite your repetition, Collins’ work was/is not an NDU study on Iraq. Or maybe you should assign B3 to those 2 (of 5?) prescient McClatchy "reporters". Or just check your sources through SWJ.
