In a stunning break from everything it has stood for in its entire history as a measured voice for neoliberal economic policies, The Economist has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama — a known socialist — for president of the United States!

That, or one of the McCain campaign’s central lines of attack against the Democratic presidential nominee is a complete fabrication.
