@Chris G: I second that! Gads, I can't even read through the speech once, let alone edit “Ya, da price of oil is goin' tru' da roof!” Heaven help us.
@edward: I recall reading a Newsweek (Time?) article in 1993 and again in 1997 predicting that Dan Quayle was the politician to watch out for in the next election. Nada. I'd give better odds of her having a talk show.

Jesus, did you really have to shoehorn all that bold stuff in the prepared remarks. Great Scott! They should pay you TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for yr work today. Having to hear it the first time and then having to hear it over and over, again and again, as you typed this up … It's too horrible to contemplate, like having the left ear exposed to a cat being dipped tail-first into a Cuisinart, and the right ear exposed to the Frances McDormand dialogue from “Fargo,” at top volume, three inches from the eardrum, with randomly stuttering thumb on the pause button of an aging VCR.

Thanks for taking this bullet for America. Now go have 47 drinks, straight up, well away from any Christian Rock.

Ya gotta wonder whether Sarah Palin (SarahSixPack.com) is going to be the GOP's standard bearer for 2012, or whether she'll just be a footnote in history. Obama (ObamaAgain2012) is a shoo-in this go-round, and it’s very likely that he’ll effectively use the power of his incumbency in ’12 to win a second term. Question is: Will Palin’s star power within the GOP continue all the way into 2016? Or isn’t it more likely that many brighter (!) GOP stars will emerge during the next 8 years?
