When Are Petraeus’ and Odierno’s Confirmation Hearings?

You know, good question. I just rang the press office of Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI), who chairs the Armed Services committee:

Me: Has the Senator scheduled the confirmation hearings for Generals Petraeus and Odierno to Centcom and MNF-I?

Levin Press Aide: He has said that he hopes to schedule them promptly.

Me: Any sense of what "promptly" means?

Levin Press Aide: No.

Me: Is there a schedule for when there’ll be a schedule?

Levin Press Aide: No.

Me: Ok, thanks.

Levin Press Aide: Sure!
