McCain May Skip His Election Night Party

The Associated Press reports Sen. John McCain might skip his own watch party on election night:

Instead of appearing before a throng of supporters at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix on the evening of Nov. 4, the Republican presidential nominee plans to deliver post-election remarks to a small group of reporters and guests on the hotel’s lawn.

Aides said Thursday that the arrangement was due to space limitations, and that McCain might drop by the election watch party at some other point.

McCain’s remarks will be piped electronically into the party and media filing center, aides said. Only a small press “pool” — mostly those who have traveled regularly with the candidate on his campaign plane, plus a few local Arizona reporters and others — will be physically present when he speaks.

The news calls into question whether the $695 price tag for a workspace in the media filing center at the Biltmore will be worthwhile for news organizations.

Yet it seems a fitting finale for a campaign in which many reporters following McCain saw more of him on television than they did in person.

In contrast, Sen. Barack Obama is planning a massive event in Chicago’s Grant Park — the site of the Lollapalooza music festival. He is expected to put in an appearance at his party.

UPDATE: Marc Ambinder reports the McCain campaign disputes the AP story:

A McCain aide says:

“He’ll speak outdoors on the lawn in front of backlit Camelback mountains — it will be beautiful — and 2000 plus people will be out there with him. The rest of the guests will be in ballrooms and overflow tents with widescreen TV’s.”

I think John and Sarah plan to pack up all the new clothes and ride off into the sunset on a grand tour of Alaska at the expense of the Alaskan taxpayers. Todd will be left to walk home from some elitist watering hole in east Indiana.

Space limitations? They don't have room for him at his own Victory Party? They must not be planning on much of a victory.

Space limitations? I think not. And considering the fact that McCain has kicked a lot of prominent reporters off his “straight talk” airplane really will open up his “space limitations.”

McCain Will “SKIP IT” Due to Voter Fraud — Am I the only one to figure out why McCain is limiting his appearance and speech on election night? Most will assume because he knows he's going to lose, but I anticipate it's because he is well aware that the election will be rigged in his favor, courtesy of electronic voting manipulation. McCain doesn't want to be near any large crowds for obvious security reasons. It's absolutely amazing that a majority of electronic voting systems throughout many of the states offer little or no paper verification or ability for a recount, and that these systems have been independently tested to be fairly easily hacked and manipulated within a matter of minutes. Part of McCain’s defense of course is the Acorn Voter Registration fraud on the democratic side a few weeks prior to the election – a great defense game is to accuse your opponent of fraud first, so believability is greatly diminished. Can you see this coming? McCain seems to even be taunting his win. This past week on “Meet the Press,” McCain states that he can “guarantee” a win… that the election will be close, but he will win. Of course, this issue will become known as just another “conspiracy theory” but I certainly hope that by the next election cycle, a majority of Americans will absolutely demand to have set in place one single standardized and accountable election system with far greater checks and balances throughout all fifty states. Wasn’t this on the agenda after spending an incredibly large sum of money after the 2000 election? It’s even worse now because of these accountability issues.
