Usually, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia dictate the color of the state. If you've ever looked at a county breakdown of PA after an election, PA's two largest cities are islands of blue amongst a sea of red. Especially with the registration blitz by the Obama campaign (lots of college students in Pittsburgh), I just don't think the more rural states have the numbers to make this even mathematically possible.
