Obama’s Election Night Party

LONDONDERRY, N.H. — The Obama campaign has been tamping down post-debate exuberance all day today, and I just heard the candidate urge 4,000 supporters in New Hampshire to take nothing for granted.  But somebody still has to plan the victory party.

While some aides of Sen. Barack Obama talk cautiously, others are aggressively planning a potentially huge — even pope-level — victory gathering on election night in Chicago, according to a new report from the Chicago Tribune.

That’s nothing special; campaigns always plan these parties. A traveling Obama spokesperson, however, just blasted the Tribune item out to reporters, which is odd considering today’s official emphasis is avoiding overconfidence.

As Obama told supporters here, don’t boo Sen. John McCain, don’t get cocky, just vote.
