BarackObama.com: Always on Message, Even in Error

Confession: I spend too much time on BarackObama.com.

As a campaign writer, I also spend too much time at rallies, but there’s no single moment when you know you’ve overdosed on stump speeches. On Obama’s website, however, that moment hit today, when I wandered into a non-working part of the campaign site for the first time. It turns out that even when a link doesn’t work, Obama.com is on message with the notification — and a branded graphic to boot:

This 404 page has some fans, it turns out, and no one can argue with universal imperfection.  But I would have preferred something like “This is not the one you’ve been waiting for.”
