There's no way a couple of million more barrels a day would affect the price of oil or the price at the pump. All automobiles, as well as all the gas stations across America run on oil.

Every time I hear a drilling supporter suggest that it's possible to extract oil and leave behind a "tiny footprint," I'm reminded of stories like Texaco befouling oil-rich areas in Ecuador and then refusing to clean up after themselves. This sort of thing shouldn't happen anywhere.

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=...

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=...
