Unfunded gov't liabilities are the large elephant in the corner that no elected official (except the Republican Study Committee) wants to discuss. But whether we discuss it or not, there will come a day (probably before 2020) where the Treas dept has a T-Bill auction and no one buys it. Regardless of the interest rate. Why? Because if current trends continue, we will have an auction to pay interest on TBills sold from a previous auction. And when that day comes, all hell will break loose economically.
