Anthony Mangione, special agent in charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigations in Miami, pleaded not guilty today to three child pornography charges.
The South Florida Sun Sentinel reportsthat Mangione, who, “served as the high-profile leader of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for South Florida,” pleaded not guilty “for images reportedly found on his home computer in Parkland.”
“Mangione is charged with transportation of child pornography, receiving child pornography and possession of child pornography,” the Sun Sentineladds. “If convicted of all the charges, he faces up to 50 years in prison.”
The Miami Herald reports that, “during the past decade, ICE has aggressively targeted child pornography, with Mangione frequently speaking outagainst ‘predators’ who illegally share images through their computers. ICE also investigates migrant smuggling, illegal weapons exports, terrorism and drug trafficking.”
