Some 28 centrist “Blue Dog” Democrats lost their congressional seats after the 2010 elections, including now-former Rep. Allen Boyd, who represented Florida’s 2nd district. #

According to a recent report by the Center for Public Integrity’s iWatch News, nearly a third of them have achieved soft landings by taking jobs lobbying their former colleagues. #

Boyd now works for the bipartisan Twenty-First Century Group, whose client list includes several figures in the telecommunications industry, among them Verizon and Time Warner Cable. #

The report notes that industry groups and their political committees bailed on the Blue Dogs after they failed to pass business-backed legislation when Democrats controlled congress, and that many of the groups switched to supporting Republicans. #
