Tricia Fraser, the girl’s mother, filed a lawsuit against Life Always yesterday over the billboards erected this past February in Manhattan.
Similar billboards were also seen inJacksonvilleand Houston, as well. They featured the young girl’s image with the words, “The most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb.”
Abortion-rights advocacy groups launched a campaign in Marchto have the billboards taken down. Life Always eventually took them downonce Fraser officially complained to the group. The organization said it would discontinue using the billboards “out of respect for the little girl and her family.”
Life Always is an arm of the Texas-based anti-choice Heroic Media,a group that has been endorsed by both Sarah Palinand Mike Huckabee. Its founder, Brian Follett, came under fire after comments in which he compared Planned Parenthood’s efforts to “genocide.”
Life Always has since featured campaigns featuring Planned Parenthood director turned anti-choice activist Abby Johnson.
