The American Independent News Network and the Michigan Messenger are taking the day off to celebrate Presidents Day. Originally a celebration of George Washington’s birthday on Feb. 22, it is now viewed as a celebration of his and Lincoln’s birthday, which was Feb. 12. Happy Birthday, gentlemen.

Brian Kelly CEO of Charter Oak Bank in Napa which failed on Friday is celebrating as a former President today. He and members of the Board of Directors are expected to be down at the bank discussing why it failed and signing autographs. Jeff Nash of South Padre Island fame just turned over the Keys of Treaty Oak Bank to its new owners who paid 5 Cents on the dollar for it. It’s presidents day in Banking also. bankalchemist.

This article, although short, is quite incorrect. The official holiday is named Washington’s Birthday, by law. Although some try to call it presidents’ day, they are wrong. Can’t expect much experience from the news media these days.

In Virginia the official state holiday is “George Washington’s Birthday”. Of course Washington was a Virginian.
