Allen West: Muslim Rep. Keith Ellison represents the ‘antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established’

U.S. Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) appeared recently on the South Florida-based program The Shalom Show and said U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), the first Muslim representative in Congress, represents the “antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established.”
The exchange occurred when the host, Richard Peritz, asked, “Since you’re with a new crowd, people you haven’t really met before, and will be very closely associating with in the future, including Keith Ellison, who supports Islam, how will you manage that?”
Rep. West responded, “Well I think it’s most important that I stand upon the principles that people elected me to go to Washington, D.C., and represent them on Capitol Hill.”
He added, “So that when you run into someone that is counter, or someone that really does represent the antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established, you’ve got to be able to defeat them intellectually in debate and discourse, and you to just have to be able to challenge each and every one of their assertions very wisely and very forthright.”
Rep. West has called Islam a “fifth column” and a “totalitarian political ideology.”

In addition, the season is always a big consideration when it comes to choosing bridesmaid dresses. A long sleeve style dress is preferable in winter and the dress with short sleeves made from light fabrics is more suitable for summer wedding.

If you choose your bigotry wisely, and if your steal record amounts from Medicare, you can get elected in Floriduh. But not to knock the state born of scams and still living on them, the same is true of most states that consider themselves to be their own country and yet get an awful lot more back from the feds than they pay in taxes.

West called Islam a “totalitarian political ideology.” This is an incredibly black-and-white view of Islam, one that only extremist Muslims happen to share. Why do Americans keep giving credence to this false belief? Plenty of Muslims support democracy.
West is part of a group of Americans who fear what they don’t understand, just like the Americans who called Catholics “ring-kissers” and said if they were elected into Congress/Presidency, they would take orders from the Pope and ruin democracy. This is nothing but propaganda from ignorant Americans.

[...] you may know, Allen West caught some flak for making critical comments about his fellow Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) in an interview a couple weeks ago. The “Coexist”ers rebuked Congressman West [...]

@Shep… that is not true. True Islam is based on the Quran… and the Quran is “not” compatible with democracy. Anyone who “calls” themselves Muslims and believe in democracy, dont believe in Islam nor in the Quran. Simple as that. Its like a person who “calls” himself a Christian yet says Jesus is “not” the only way to the Father. He wouldnt be believing in Christianity nor the Bible. See?
