Sanders mounting filibuster now against tax cut deal
Friday, December 10, 2010 at 2:25 pm
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is mounting a filibuster in the U.S. Senate right now against the Bush tax cuts deal brokered by President Obama and congressional Republicans. He has been speaking since 10:25 a.m. EST against the tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, and his office writes that he is pledging to speak “as long as possible.”
Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) has taken over for Sanders in parts of the filibuster. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) — a more centrist senator who voted for the tax cuts in 2001 — joined in and made it a colloquy.
This continues. Watch it here.

Stephen Lendman points out 50% of congress, including all of the leadership in both parties are millionaires, most of these multimillionaires. All of them including former Senator Obama made this money AFTER entering their careers in politics.
In the USA we’ll come down hard on a building inspector, a cop or a black elected official who takes graft — not on rich white folks who do so in the highest offices in the land.
