R- I agree with you it took little effort to choose those questions to trip her up. Just stating it as I see it - Sure did seem like there were less logs on Biden's trail to trip him up than on her's. I have no dog in this fight at all. I don't like either side. I TOTALLY agree with you on the effect a debate has as well.

RMB - Debates are about policy, direction and the people comfort with the proposed leadership, not wit. If it was about wit Bill Moyer would be president, regardless of how stupid he really is. If it was about outsmarting and outmanuvering your opponent, them they should be playing a game of chess to determine who is president. Smartest wins!! You sound like a disgruntled, died in the wool Hillary fan. I find alot of people argument laughable against Palin. She has blazed a trail not unlike that of Bill Clinton. If you forgot, he was a Govenor of one the most illiterate, poorest states in our union. There's something to hang your hat on.The simple fact remains the average person (which constitutes about 80% of the population) is relating to her in one way or another. Simply put, she talks like we talk. That is their tactic, and most people are tired of the same old political talking head voice promising the same old things every election, but never delivering. I'm not suprised people are looking at her as a fresh, down to earth approach. Doesn't make her a good fit, but it does make sense.

The bottom line is (Hillary included with the four we have to choose from) there are way to many things with all of them indicating they are corrupt in the things they have been implicated with. I said at the beginning of this election your choice was Bad, Worse and Worst. In order - Hillary, McCain and then Obama.

The swiping at the purse comment is a little vague. If you think her and McCain will "Swindle" you any more that Obama and Biden, you really have a distorted view of history and the future in relation to what they are proposing.

You might want to review my post below on how the largest swindling of the US happened and who was really driving it if your worried about your "purse". We all need to get past this 2 party system, and stops clinging to a "Candidate" or "Party" and start thinking in terms of actions best for our people. That is the sign of an intelligent person.

I just have to say that I'm sick of this "Jane-Six-Pack" for office crap...It's one thing to be likable and relate to the people, but not at the formal debates. Debates are about wit. Not entertainment and jockeying with the people. It's about outsmarting, out maneuvering one another with your smarts. SHE DOESN"T HAVE THEM! Yes you can win local and state elections doing what she has done, but not in the Majors! It was like watching a college freshman work-shopping a project with a college professor. And being a professor IS A GOOD THING! They both should be the likes of professors with their knowledge and depth of understanding. Oh..I'm a woman too...but I know there is better out there! Just imagine if Hillary had tried all that winking last night. Aren't some things supposed to be showcases for the best America has to offer? Isn't there any weight and gravity to the office she's running for? This wasn't a PTA meeting... This country may be "of the people, by the people and for the people..." but it should never be at the median intelligence of the people. We should be doing the office some respect when we aspire to it, instead of posing for it. I do not relate to her or her uterus. I do not relate to her isms even if I hear them EVERYDAY...because I was educated to expect MORE than average intelligence from the president and vice presidential offices...

The only reason she may have "won" was because we all wish there was more depth to the MIss America pageant and we all like to be flattered by a lady who winks at us...even if, in reality, she's stealing our purse. The more she gushes her Alaska-isms....the more I distrust her facade. Her insistence on not asking her any questions while she swipes at our wallets is a dead giveaway.

If the questions were deliberately specific to Palin's weaknesses (which,IMHO, requires little effort to choose), she ably responded in J-School fashion by answering the question she wanted, not the one asked.

My local paper polled its readership (unscientifically) and received assurances that less that 3% of readers had EVER changed their votes in response to a "debate". Given that the current two-party media circus is more ceremonial dance than debate, it was really just another chance for people to figure out what Joe Biden looks like and what hockey moms have to say about the third graders back home. While Tina Faye could be the smarter stand-in, Frances McDormand did the original impression in the movie "Fargo" - except McDormand was relentlessly successful under the radar (and won an Oscar). Oh-oh!

The thing I find very interesting in all of this is which is worse? Palin- Dodging questions that she was probably not comfortable answering or, Biden - Giving answers to questions which he nor Obama can hold as literal truth as most (If not all) promises or plans politicians give the U.S. citizens knowingly never come to fruition. If we are all honest with ourselves, we know we are just being told what we want to hear.

The other interesting thing here is it seemed 80% of the questions seemed to line up (to perfectly in fact) with the perceived weaknesses Palin has had in her interviews. I was quite suprised non of Biden's weaknesses were attached to questions, such as he was the author of the "Original" Patriot Act in 1996. He has done more than almost any senator in history to destroy our personal freedoms. He was "Blazing" the trail for people to listen to our conversations and drag our emails long before it was the "cool" thing to do like it is now. We all better wake up soon and seek truth...not just what our itching ears want to hear.

As far as the economy goes right now it is so simple to understand, yet no one is telling it like it is. Both parties have had their involvement, but the Dems are winning the ownership of this one. Carter started the Community Reinvestment ACt, allowing lower income families and indiviuals to qualify for homes (a.k.a - Variable mortgages), fast foward to clinton, he makes it even easier, along with nudging the banks to take on the bundled sub-prime mortgages written by Fannie// Freddie. If youe all don't remember, banks were between a rock and a hard place. They were threatened legally if they did not play ball, thus having to take on bad debt they personally knew was toxic. All in the realization of Clinton's dream of higher home ownership. Fast foward to Bush , after 9/11 even lowered the bar even further due to economic pressure. Stupid. All the while those calling for better regulation from 96 to 2006 got shut down by those getting HUGE kickbacks from Freddie/ Fannie. Look for yourself, it lines up perfectly. Those screaming the loudest saying "Move along, there is nothing to see here, it's doing just fine." are the very same people getting large amounts of money from them. There you have it folks Freddie/ Fannie is the CAUSE of what we are dealing with, the banks failing are but the SYMPTOM.

Have fun, and do your own homework. If the facts you are being fed through the MSM were equivalent to food, it would be rat poison.

I suppose her performance worked for "Joe Six-Pack" because she showed herself to be a dittohead. She repeated talking points ad nauseum, and used the old Republican attack lines. As usual, the Democrat was unable or unwilling to fight back with simple questions that would have shown her for the hypocrite she is. Such as:

How do you define victory.

Timetables are used in the private sector all the time. They are established goals. If there is no timetable, there is no incentive to, as you say, "finish the job" within a timeline that the American people can pay. So, governor, why are established goals by established dates, which the private sector calls a timetable, unreasonable for the best military on earth?

Governor, you said that Americans have to live within their means. Do you believe that living within their means is being subsidized by the government to the tune of $9,000 (made up number, but it's much higher than Illinois' number that McCain quoted) per Alaskan, when you are able to give money back to Alaskan citizens?

They had ONE chance to answer questions for us.
ONE chance to show us what she thinks. And, she
showed us that she is a politician that dodges questions.
IMO, we do not need any more of that kind in the nation's
capital.
And that leaves questions out there still hanging in the
breeze. Was she coached to do this or is it her natural
self?

I said at the beginning of this election your choice was Bad, Worse and Worst. In order – Hillary, McCain and then Obama.

The swiping at the purse comment is a little vague. If you think her and McCain will “Swindle” you any more that Obama and Biden, you really have a distorted view of history and the future in relation to what they are proposing.

You might want to review my post below on how the largest swindling of the US happened and who was really driving it if your worried about your “purse”. We all need to get past this 2 party system, and stops clinging to a “Candidate” or “Party” and start thinking in terms of actions best for our people.
