Rand Paul Attacked on Mine Safety, ‘Aqua Buddha’
Monday, October 18, 2010 at 8:54 am
Last night the Kentucky Senate race between Attorney General Jack Conway (D) and ophthalmologist Rand Paul (R) took a turn to serious issues, like the worship of “Aqua Buddha.” While the GQ article linking Paul to a secret society at Baylor University that mocked Christianity has been out in the open for quite some time, Paul professed outrage during last night’s debate at Conway’s decision to make it a campaign issue by releasing a new TV ad based on Paul’s college years and meant to throw doubt on his faith:
“Jack, have you no decency? Have you no shame?” Paul asked Conway during the fourth of five scheduled debates between Kentucky’s U.S. Senate candidates.
Paul said Conway’s actions were “a disgrace” that should disqualify Conway from the heated contest Kentuckians will decide Nov. 2.
The debate was full of barbed exchanges such as these, but Conway held his ground and continued to ask Paul why he would voluntarily join a group like the one he participated in at Baylor. Paul refused to answer and declined to shake Conway’s hand at the end of the debate.
On a related note, there’s a new PAC with a tongue-in-cheek name, Americans for America — tagline: “If you’re not with us… You must Hate America” — that’s attempting to run its own radio commercials against Paul that tie the candidate’s laissez-faire attitude towards mine safety to the recent near-disaster in Chile. It’s a bit of a stretch, but it leaps on Paul’s previous comment that “accidents happen” in a bid to galvanize the state’s sizable coal worker population to take a long look at Paul’s stance on workplace safety regulations.

Rand Paul is nothing but another privileged rich white boy who belongs to the vast army of privileged and paranoid white conservatives who believe “their America” – and let me emphasize the “their” – is slipping away and they will say and do anything to try to reacquire the power that conservatives have abused every time they acquire that power.

I suppose there are quite a few in this country that would just love to bring those around them down to the 3rd world level they're living in. It would make them feel so much better about themselves.

I can't help but giggle a little bit at your feeble attempt to bring anti-whiteboy “racism” into the fold. You poor, poor misguided fool.

The Tea Party's platform is for smaller government and less taxes. Do some of them question Obama's birthplace? I'm sure they do but lumping tea partyers into the birther group is a stretch. And Msrsastry, how about giving some concrete examples to back up your post.

Smaller government? Elect me to government, and I'll make it smaller? Less taxes? For the big companies that send jobs overseas so they can pay workers less. But I guess if these people have their way, and do away with minimum wage, then we'll get those jobs back.

Honest? He won't own up to things he said. What he has said and done doesn't bother me, it's the fact that he denies it.

In 2008, Detroit union auto workers total pay including benefits was more than 2.5 times higher than that of the average American worker-$73. an hour as opposed to $28.00 an hour. Think that just may be why companies have moved overseas? Also, have you taken a look at Detroit lately? Fact check those numbers for yourself and tell us all how factory workers making the equivalent of over $140, 000 when benefits are figured in, can possibly be sustainable? Also, keep in mind that a great many of us out here receive no company benefits whatsoever and have to pay for our retirement and healthcare out of our own pockets. Workers unite my foot.

Rand Paul wants to abolish the Department of Education, repeal civil rights, put an end to social security, stop medicare and unemployment insurance and turn this country back to the mid-1800's. This guy is totally wrong in every way. The fact that he is getting any support at all is a sad commentary on the state of the country.

Only if Rand Paul wins, a doctor who certified himself and wants to elimiate the Dept. of Education and make the elderly pay a $2000 deductible and thinks Mine safety is no big deal – accidents happen. Now, that is not only scary, but massive ignorance. Go, Jack Conway! Send the loon home!

Hey, Rand Paul was questioned about some serious allegations about his past. Restraing a woman and mocking Christianity at any time in anyone's lives doesn't really go over well with most Kentuckians and particularly if that someone wants to be a leader in a government position. I am sorry, but this should have been exposed and it needs an answer. This enquiring voter wants to know!

Why isn't more attention given to the fact that Rand Paul is a completely bought and paid for politician who will do anything for his wealthy donors? He has sucked up to British Petroleum and other oil companies to get corporate cash and corporate ads. He even wants to shift taxes from his rich donors to middle class and poor people. The man is pure corruption.

Crackers? (That sounds like a nice descriptive word… and the word nig*ger is bad then?)
Same thing isn't it?
Hmmmm Sounds like a white boy named Matt or Matthew (not a black mans name) is one of the silly “whiteys” who likes to pretend he is black. You, little silly insecure “whiteboy” are sad and I, and I am sure intelligent black men feel quite sorry for you and have a laugh when you pretend you aren't white like you did today replying to this. A white guy named Mat just pretended he was black by using the term “Crackers”. Here's a tissue to wipe the jiz from your lips… now go chase parked cars… Mat. Tell your mother she wants you… Ooooooor… go play in the freeway fruitcake!

Greetings! This is my first visit to your blog! We are a group of volunteers and starting a new project in a community in the same niche. Your blog provided us beneficial information to work on. You have done a marvellous job!

Do you mind if I quote a few of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your website? My blog is in the very same niche as yours and my users would really benefit from a lot of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this okay with you. Thanks!

Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any tips for first-time blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.

Greetings from California! I’m bored at work so I decided to check out your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the knowledge you provide here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m surprised at how quick your blog loaded on my mobile .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyways, superb blog!

Please let me know if you’re looking for a article writer for your site. You have some really great articles and I feel I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d love to write some material for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please blast me an e-mail if interested. Kudos!

This design is spectacular! You most certainly know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!

With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My blog has a lot of unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any ways to help protect against content from being ripped off? I’d certainly appreciate it.

Hey there! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thank you

Hello! Do you know if they make any plugins to help with Search Engine Optimization? I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good success. If you know of any please share. Cheers!
